Double Pocket Purse

Hi Everyone!
Here’s a pattern I wrote up yesterday.
This is my first written pattern, so please let me know if you find any problem in it and I’ll fix it as soon as possible!  If you need help with anything concerning this pattern just leave a comment on this post and I’ll try to get it answered for you.

Materials needed:
Hook Size: H
Yarn needed:  Vanna’s Choice Honey a little less than 1 skein
Vanna’s Choice Black less than ½ a skein
1 yarn needle (for sewing the pieces together)
1 regular sized needle (for sewing the buttons on)
Black thread
3 matching medium sized buttons

Front and Back (make 2)

Chain 40
DC in 2nd chain from hook
*Row 1: DC in each stitch across, Chain 2, Turn*
Repeat from * to * 8 times
Finish off

Bottom

Chain 40
DC in 2nd chain from hook
*Row 1: DC in each stitch across, chain 2, Turn*
Repeat from * to * 4 times
SC in each stitch across
Finish off

Sides (make 2)

Chain 20
DC in 2nd chain from hook
*Row 1: DC in each stitch across, chain 2, Turn*
Repeat from * to * 4 times
SC in each stitch across
Finish off

At this point in the pattern you can sew all of the pieces together using the yarn needle and any extra Honey yarn you have left.  It should be fairly simple to assemble.  Also, when you sew the purse together it should be inside out so that your seams won’t be showing.

*Note: * the rest of the pattern will be done in black

Strap

Start on either side
Insert hook in the side of the bag and chain 50
Insert hook into the other side of the bag and slip stitch
Turn
DC in each stitch across the strap
Slip stitch into the side
SC across
Slip stitch into the side
Finish off

Top edging

Row 1:   To make the black area at the top of the bag, insert hook into the Honey stitch immediately next to one of the black straps and slip stitch
*Decrease in next stitch, then DC*
Continue from * to * around

Row 2:   *Decrease in next stitch, decrease in next stitch, DC in next stitch* Repeat from *to* across this row
Row 3:   SC in each stitch around

Finish off

Pockets (make 2)

Chain 13
DC in second chain from hook
*DC in each stitch across, chain 2 and turn*
Repeat from * to * 4 more times
Finish off

Button Strap

*Insert hook a little to the left at top of the middle of the back piece
Chain 7, turn
DC in 3rd chain from hook and in each stitch across
Slip stitch into the stitch to the right of the first stitch you inserted into, Turn
SC into each stitch across
Finish off

Now just sew on the buttons using the regular needle and sew on the pockets using the yarn needle!
The instructions for the Button Strap and Top Edging might be a little hard to understand, so let me know if your having any trouble with it.
Thanks, and have a great day!

"Granny Circle" sling

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm sharing some photos of my latest project.  I used the same method used for Granny squares, but put enough points into it to make a circle.  I made 2 of these "Granny Circles", stitched them together, added a strap, and sewed a button on so it could be opened and closed.

Thanks for looking!
